The juggle of gender equality goes back an overlong lane of turbulent and revolutionary history. Although we have come a long way ahead to change equality, things are still concerning and living on the vestiges of primitive minds. Breaking down this vicious cycle by educating our young ones and spreading awareness among them is of utmost importance. Deep-rooted stigmas are too stubborn to be uprooted in a day or two. Promoting female leadership shouldn’t be restricted to political settings but must touch every sector with the same force. From healthcare to the cosmetic industry, chemical engineering, or academicians, the role of females should be explicitly valued and understood to promote healthy working conditions. The growth of society isn’t possible with half the population held back from a massive pool of opportunities.

Placing quotas and reservations can positively affect development, but this might not be enough. Necessary changes can only happen with a forward and progressive mentality, so instilling an attitude of respect and dignity towards all genders is the way to go.
