Chat GPT vs. Google Bard

Chat GPT vs. Google Bard

Technology is moving fast with the involvement of Artificial intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, and many other influential concepts. Both ChatGPT and Google Bard highlight the advancements of the IT world. We have already done a thorough blog on Chat GPT. Meanwhile, Google Bard is a recent discovery, and is it any different from ChatGPT? Let’s find out.

All about Google Bard

Google Bard is an AI model developed by Google that generates explicit poetry in a human-like style. To train Bard, Google used recent datasets, making them more up-to-date than ChatGPT. Regardless, the functionality remains the same. The model then uses deep learning algorithms and natural language processing techniques to generate the required outputs. Google Bard has the potential to participate in various applications, including creative writing, content generation, and even education. The model represents a significant advancement in the capabilities of AI-Language models.

We can understand more about the two AI tools when compared head to head. And get an idea of how well Google responded to OpenAI’s record-breaking tech.

Difference between ChatGPT and Google Bard

Data Source

ChatGPT and Google Bard are pre-trained models on massive amounts of text data to learn patterns and relationships in language. However, the quality and quantity of training data determine the efficiency of the AI tool. And surprisingly, the data source is the main difference between the both.

ChatGPT is a 2022 innovation whose data source limits itself to pre-2021 information. On the other hand, Google Bard has a real-time data source from the internet, making it more efficient and reliable.

The exact data sources for both AI tools are private, but the information indicates that ChatGPT can lack the latest knowledge. The differences in the training data can ultimately impact the capabilities and performance of the two models in different contexts.

Efficiency

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that both models have strengths and weaknesses depending on the specific ask. On the surface, their outputs look to be equivalent. There are subtle differences that may put Bard ahead of ChatGPT. ChatGPT may have a more precise answer to the user’s queries, whereas Bard may have more recent information.

However, Bard’s reliability was questionable due to its embarrassing errors in the recent past. But Bard still has the edge over ChatGPT when it comes to efficiency. One simple reason is that it has the latest data set, as it collects real-time information from the internet.

Therefore, Google Bard can answer more recent events, whereas ChatGPT lacks behind. Nonetheless, Microsoft plans to support OpenAi to update ChatGPT as a solid competition to Bard.

Usability

One critical factor for any application or tool to be successful is that it should be user-friendly. Comparing the two AI tools on this parameter will be partial, as Google has not made Bard public yet. Although the ease of use also depends on the user’s familiarity with the tool.

As per reports, ChatGPT and Bard have the same input prompt output generation principle. But for the few people that have got their hands on Google Bard, the user must input a more detailed and specific query to get the desired results.

So let’s not take this one away from ChatGPT. It is simple, user-friendly, and one of the most convenient AI tools. The user has to provide a query as the input in the chatbot and can receive all relatable information. Users will likely get what they want regardless of any grammatical error, spelling mistake, or even imprecise input.

It is a straightforward battle of two great AI tools, which is still a battle because there is no clear-cut supremacy from anyone. While Bard may have the latest answers, ChatGPT’s overall features can overpower Bard. ChatGPT can generate long descriptions, articles, essays, etc. And it will be wrong to assume that Bard can’t do the same, but we are still to discover that.

That being said, Google Bard and ChatGPT can expect more competition in the field by the end of 2023. Many tools like ChatSonic, OpenAssistant, and Jasper AI surfaced online recently. Nonetheless, this fierce competition leads to tremendous advancements in the technological world.
